I'm still plugging around at 250k miles. 250k was my minimum goal. A year ago, I was putting 100 miles a day on it....now I do about 30 miles a week....combo of new job and recovering from lymphoma during covid. At this rate...I'll be good for a few more years.

 

Good to hear these Outlander can do 250,000 miles. What does your maintenance routine look like?

 

2012 Outlander LS (V6). I currently have around 180000kms. It was originally a rental unit from Ottawa. I've owned since it was a year old

Work done:
- Oil change (fill synthetic) every 8000kms
- Trans fluid(DIY)(Amsoil) - 3 years ago and again this year
- Diff and transfer case fluid (Amsoil 75-110)- 3 years ago and again this year
- Brake system flush (this summer)
- Power steering flush (this summer)
- Brakes and rotors - New this past spring
- Pass side control arm - Last fall
- Driver side outer tie rod - This summer
- Timing belt service (last fall)(incl: water pump, coolant flush, etc)
- Annual Krown Rustproofing since I've had it

Notable issues:
- Backup camera stopped working 2 years ago (mirror still works. Haven't fixed yet)
- Drivers side cup holder support broke off with my knee (I can't imagine that's uncommon)
- Visor screws came loose (re-tightened, not an issue since)
- Decorative ring on AWD selector broke off
- I get stone chips like crazy, but almost exclusively on the rear wheel arches.
- There's a couple small holes in the muffler. Likely going to replace in the spring.

As of today, it still runs and drives like new. It doesn't burn a drop of oil (despite what Scotty Kilmer has to say about it) and it absolutely unstoppable in the Winter. I was recently considering trading in (while there was still some resale value), only to discover that there is no resale value (Only offered $3000). I guess that means I'm going to drive it for a couple years more and stash some money in the bank.

Overall I love the vehicle. It's easily the best car I've owned. I only have 3 gripes:
1. Why even bother with a 3rd row?
2. There is zero aftermarket support for these vehicles in North America. Suspension/brake parts are pretty common (likely because they're shared with other models and even other makes. But for accessories or vehicle specific parts, availability is scarce and pricing is horrendous.
3. Despite the value of the vehicle plunging, my insurance rates have gone waaaaay up. When it was a year old, it was $1500 annually, now it's almost $2000. Maybe this is a regional thing but it doesn't make sense to me. I'd be interested to now if anyone else has experience this in other regions.

 

How about least mileage, I have a 2014 SE V6, just 6 six years out of the showroom with 32000 Kilometres on the clock, still looks like new inside and out.

 

oil done every 7.5k
Transmission every 45k miles.
Brake and ps every other year
Coolant done at 75k. Replaced with peak global lifetime. Radiator went out around 200k.
Spark plugs and belts every 110k miles...or so.

 

I have anMitsubishi Outlander 6 cylinder 2007. On the clock today it reads well over 300000 kms. Goes like a breeze. Love my car. I bought it 2nd hand.for $5.500. OVER 2 years ago.
as long as it is serviced regularly and looked after hopefully it will last for years.
Mitsubishi dealer told me the same thing.

Interesting, as far as the insurance thing,I'm in Ottawa and pay about $1200 for full coverage.

 

Hello. I have a 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander and so far I have 50,000 miles on the car. So far no problems. My plan is to put on at least 300,000 miles on it, maybe 400,000 if I am lucky. But google says the car can reach
only 200,000 miles.

 

I'm positive if you stick to the severe maintenance schedule religiously you can reach 300K and possibily 400K. Just gotta take good care of her.
