Hi chenarm. Of course, you can try with an aftermarket inverter, look the link https://mitsubishiforum.com/m_236341/tm.htm, azchipka installed one; I did it at his moment, but I finally decided to go by the OEM inverter. About the specifications of the inverter, from servicen manual, page 54Ae-3:

- With the AC inverter, the DC power supply of the vehicle battery can be inverted into the AC power supply and provided from the AC outlet
- The electric appliance whose power consumption is 100 W or less when 115 VAC is supplied can be used
- To prevent damage caused by overcurrent, overvoltage, and overheat*, when the power is supplied, the protection function to stop the power supply and prevention function against dead battery have been provided.

* When the inside of the vehicle is held at high temperature (35 °C or more) for a long time (for example under the scorching sun), if the AC power supply is used with the vehicle parked, the operation may automatically stop to prevent the inverter unit from being overheated. After the power supply is cut off, when the AC inverter temperatures decrease, the power automatically returns to ON. . .

i think you can get around using the factory invertor, it would require modifying the connector though.

having the box and outlet will give you the factory look.
