Question Need some advice from fellow gearhead plz.

I have been keeping up with all the Maintenance in the manual I purchased the 2008 Mitsubishi Outlander XLS, there is a clucking/clanging noise coming from what seems to be the Catalytic Converter, I just wanna get some advice from anyone that may know what that can be. Also what recall services have you guys had done? Taking it the dealer Monday they will answer up. Thank-You in advance to anyone who can shed some light.

Assuming that it's not a loose or cracked heat shield in the area of the catalytic converter its likely that a piece of the element inside the catalytic converter has cracked, broke off and is rattling around inside there. My brother had it happen on his acura I believe. Not sure if there is a cause, or just bad luck.

The heat shield would be the first thing I would check. If it is the catalytic converter automakers are required by US law to cover most emission components for 8 years or 80,000 miles.
