New 2008 Outlander Owner
About 1 week ago, the transmission went out on my old vehicle and the search began for a new one. I honestly never would have thought I would buy any Mitsubishi. I drove a CRV, RAV4, Forrester, Santa Fe, Outlander and Rogue. In the end, the Outlander won me over due to the V6 engine, the price and the overall experience. Getting one for 2,000 below invoice and 0% interest only helped in choosing the Outlander...It absolutely stomps the CRV. It drives so much better! In my mind, Mitsubishi has a hidden jewel on its hands with this vehicle.
Quick question - I got the LS model that is bluetooth ready. Can this be done cheaper with an after market solution? The dealer wanted 400.00 and I said forget it.

BigCTM, welome to the world of Mitsubishi. It's about darn time. This Outie is my 4th Mitsubishi, and defenitely not my last. As for your question about blue tooth, I do not have an answer. My LIMITED experience with the Mitsubishi stealers, oops I mean dealers, is that they are incompetent and boarderline on criminally expensive. I know that others love thier dealers service departments, and I envy them for thier good experiences, but the two places I have lived with stealers has not afforded me any positive experiences with them. Even aside from incompetent service departments, I have found OEM parts to be ridiculously high, so I always checkother sourcesbefore Mitsubishi. Good luck!

The hands free OEM kit runs about $200 from most online part stores. But then you need to install it...Dealers charge about $70-90 per hour.
It would probably be cheaper to go aftermarket. But if you want OEM then I'd buy the parts seperate and then ask the dealer how long it would take to install.

Welcome to the Mitsubishi family. I hope yourexperience is a long andhappy one.
The kit includes a module and a microphone. If your handy you can install it yourself
and have the dealer program the ETACS for you. I sell the kit for $187.46 plus shipping.
If your local dealer wants your future business they will charge no more than $50.00
to program. Though it may be possible, I could not find the procedure to program it without
the scantool.
