I'm kind of looking for a set.. I've already got one door ding..and I'm thinking it could cover the ding and prevent future ones..plus they add a little interest to the sides, while still looking clean

The US OEM are graphite colored, so they won't match perfectly on black. The EU OEM are available painted or unpainted, but they're all over $400.

You can mount the sportwing moldings any height you want, I just went by their recommended measurement. It matched up well with an Accord door when I tested the height for protection. They are now listed on the www.sportwing.com web site, and the photo they show has them mounted several inches higher than where I mounted mine. Dunno which location is better...

The red was tape used as a guide.

The painted set is $99.
Not bad. But my Outlander is already black, so I guess I can go with the OEM one for a few $ less. I think that deal is very good though for those with other colors. But I just wonder, it looks too low on the pics. I saw some pictures with OEM moldings on and it's mounted almost on the middle part of the door.

Oh it's graphite? I always thought it was the regular black rubber, looking at the pics. So I have to ask the dealer again then. Yeah, I just want the black one. Yeah, you can never trust the idiot that parks beside you. Sometimes I think they do it on purpose. Getting envious of the shiny new Outlander of yours, while they drive some beaten up sedan.

The mouldings I've seen installed by the dealer were a silver..don't recall if it matched the XLS silver trim pieces or not.

It could actually be ordered to the body color you want, I still have to ask. But yeah, that's interesting to know it's offered in other colors. You got me thinking there if I should get a silver one, so at least I get some contrast with a black background.

You only have one choice of color for OEM, it's not an exact match for the Graphite Gray cars, but sort of close.

If you want the Sportwing molding you normally just grab the paint code from www.paintscratch.combut it looks like they don't list Graphite Gray as an option. I'd suggest getting the paint code from the door jam and email or call Sportwing.

The OEM molding is different than the Sportwing molding.
