Default new outlander Speed resticted to 70 mph

Hi guys i have done a bit of searching online and in this forum and am struggling to find any info on this perhaps its not that common yet
i have an Outlander 08 company car which has been limeted to 70 mph (sucks big time ) does anybody know if there is any way around this without having to take it to a dealer can i just disconnect a speed sense or something (im assuming everything is tied into the traction control and ABS so that is out) is there a way of increasing it up, even just a bit would be better
Thanks for any help

Default Engine Mapping.

There is no easy way unless you know a mitsu tech that can change the value for top speed in the engine map. Company car, company rules. Why risk being canned for a few extra MPH. If you're driving for the company, play by their rules, that's what they pay you for.

i supposed you can use tyres of bigger rolling diameter.. and pray that the speed limiter works by reading the speed off the speedo, instead of GPS signals.

theres nothing in the PCM from mitsubishi to limit the speed to 70... and I doubt VERY much than mitsubishi made "special" arrangements with any company to do such a thing.

what company are we talking about?

there are aftermarket speed limiters. the company might have fitted them into their fleet cars..
more advance models have vehicle tracking and logging as well... much like a blackbox in aircrafts.

Default its doable

There is a speed governed top speed entered into the engine control. It's value is determined by the speed rating of the OEM tires. Very easy to change and fleet vehicles can easily have this number changed for their needs.

Thanks guys for the info with a bit more digging i have discovered it is an after-market unit that runs of the stereo input easy to disable but could be discovered when serviced does anybody know what signal is used into the stereo they are an orange and white twisted pair the voltage stays between 3.5 and 4.4 regardless of speed and tried with a clip on ammeter (mine only reads to 1 decimal place so not sure) did not really change at all so am wondering if it would be a frequency Hz any ideas failing that it will be a hidden switch
any help appreciated thanks
