Default New Outlander XLS Owner

Hello everyone, I just purchased my 07 Outlander XLS and thought I'd say hi. I'm new to Mitsubishi, and to SUV's in general (my old car was a 2002 Impreza WRX). So far I love the car, it's nice to have something that came from the factory with all the features professionally installed (rather than me installing them later ). That said, I have a few questions I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on.

-Leather seats: I live in Buffalo, and we get a ton of snow...should I be worrying about snow getting into the car and onto the seats when I open the door? Same goes for when it's raining. I've never had leather seats before, and want to make sure that I don't ruin them because I got them wet.

-Multi-Communication Center:
- Is there a faster way to put music onto the HDD? The only way I can figure out is to "record" the songs from CD's onto the HDD. This is very time consuming for me, as I keep all my music on my computer (no longer have many of the CD's). What I have to do, is burn the music onto a CD (~20 songs), and then have the HDD record them. Also, the HDD will read the information (Artist/CD Title/Track Title) from some of the CD's, and not others, so that I have to go through and input the information manually.
- There is an auxiliary jack as well as an auxiliary mode in the system, is that just for looks? I've tried plugging my iPod into it, as well as a CD player, and nothing seems to work.

-What kind of gas mileage can I expect? So far I’ve only filled up twice, and this last time I only got 184 miles to the tank. I’ve been driving in 4WD Lock lately as the roads have been bad, is this normal for such a new car?

Ok, that’s all I can think of for now. I’m bringing the car in next Friday to the dealer to have a trailer hitch installed, and some other things looked at. I’ve asked them about the questions I’ve put here, and my dealer didn’t know anything about them, that’s why I posted them, hopefully someone can give me some insight.

Just keep the seats nice...dry them off and use some conditioner too. It should be pretty easy to take care of them. Putting songs on the HD is what it is. Load up as much as you can stand at once...or do a little at a time...it's slow.
