Hi. I just got my outlander last Friday (used with 11K).

Questions for an 04 LS AWD

1. Does my model have an ignition key illumination ring? It looks like it does but it doesn't light up.

2. I'd like to install fog lights. Is mine pre-wired already?

3. Aftermarket alarms. If I buy one with an auto start function, how will the car start if we have an immobilizer. Has anyone installed an alarm? If so, please post the installation process like where is the lock/unlock module? What wires, etc.

Thanks.

hey whats up bro...welcome to the forum....lolz. any way about the ignition illum. ring, you should have one. its an 04 ls awd. not top of the line but almost...fog lights are pre wired by the dealer. and its too expensive, just buy an aftermarket one and install it your self. about the aftermarket alarms...thats a tough one, your best bet is to get a diagram from the company ( alarm / aftermarket ) esp. for the remote start, it looks easy to install it, but once you installed it, problem will rise.and talk about immobilizer ....tough one for us, an easy one for the dealer though.

thanks. I asked the dealer about the fogs. They said $ 240 just for the fogs without labor. Any ideas on where to buy aftermarket fogs? For the alarm, I think I'll install one but without hooking up the auto start. I don't want to mess with the computer. I need to know the wiring for the central lock module though? By the way, where is the module?

Check out the following sites:

Most have the lights under $200. If you know what you're doing and have some basic tools, you can probably install them yourself. If not, go back to the dealer that sold you the car and try to get them to do it cheap.
