the only way to have the TPMS work on another set of wheel is to get another set of TPMS valve. i think it still cost something like $200 a set of 4, not to metion the programming cost that the dealer or tireshop might (or might not) charge you every time you do a change over.

as long as you stick to the right overall diameter of the new tire, it should not affect your speedometer reading.

i have 235/55r18 for summer and 235/70r16 for winter and in both cases, my speed is bang-on both on GPS and my speedometer.

Its illegal to disable it and I dont think any dealer with risk a law suit. A smiley face decal on the instument cluster will work. I have a Durnago with 22 srt wheels for summer without tps and if I park close to my wifes 08 and now the 11 GT I can read her sensors. I dont think they need to be programmed the will learn. I drive around all summer with the dam light and then when i put the factory 20's on the will read within a few miles. The outlander tps are the same part number as my 2008 dodge

Yes, disabling TPMS could be illegal in the States.

There is no warning LED, it is a message showing up every time you start engine and a yellow warning triangle shown while engine is running.

Go to Tire Rack - Your performance experts for tires and wheels.
You can view different kinds and sizes of wheels available for your ride. They also have lots of choices and reviews for tires. They even sell winter packages that ranges from 16" thru 18". If you don't buy from them, maybe your local tire shop can match tirerack's prices.

Since I just bought a new set of 18" tires I might actually just go with the 16" winter package to save some money. If I do, I will not install another set of TPMS. I'll be running without it for just 3-4 mos. anyway. I wonder if it will burn out the TPMS warning light though...could it be an expensive remove/replace light bulb job?? Any thoughts??

It's a surface mounted LED.

We do it all the time in Snow country.

In your case, in the USA it is illegal to run without TPMS

You're right, the LED is present too.

BTW Any idea how to solder in missing LED? I mean without full disassembly of the cluster.
I want rear fog LED working.
