Has anyone installed non oem foglights? If so, is it possible to use the oem wire loom on the aftermarket lights?

I'm considering purchasing fogs and need to decide oem or not--depending on cost.

So, questions are:

1. Can I just buy the wire harness to connect to the main wiring connections?

2. Is it better in the long run to just get the oem kit and bite the cost?

I realize I would also need to buy the new stalk with the foglight switch.

Any input would be really appreciated.
