Default Noob looking for advice

Hello to all just found this site as a result of looking for a new vehicle. I am looking at the Outlander XLS. It seems to be a really good value for the price considering all of the options you get. Can anybody offer me any advise on this vehicle in regards to if it's a good choice any down falls or dependability issues or anything positive as well? Thanks in advance

Hey, just bought an xls bout 2 weeks ago, the wife and I really love it.
Here are my opinions
1, the suspension on these things is wicked good, very neutral in corners, only shows some understeer if pushed really, REALLY hard. can be provoked into oversteer with the right amount of rear brake tap.
Very controlled ride, some might say its too firm, Me, I love it,
2. Mitsu really nailed the look of the body, Absolutly stands out in the crowd.
3. The bluetooth handsfree system is bar none the best I have seen. Really easy to set up, and works better than most
4. The F.A.S.T. keyless system is the wave of the future. I just love it, no more having to fight with a huge *** key ring, and struggle to find where it goes. Just hop in, turn the switch, and your off. You never have to worry about locking your keys in the car, and you never have to worry about someone being able to steal yo ****.
5. Cargo space, We have three kids, and another on the way (our first son, I am so freaking excited) and even tho the cargo area behind the third row looks small, dont underestimate it, its will hold everything you need, and then some. Also the tailgate feature is awsome, The only thing I wish it did do that it doesnt is, I wish the rear glass lifted. But I guess you cant have it all can you?
6. The seats are the easiest thing in the world for kids, or you to work, Just grap the recline handle and the whole thing flips foward and out of your way! put it up with two latches, and on top of that, It reclines. The third row looks terribly uncomfortable, but all my kids are too small to ride back there without car seats, so what diffrence does it make. My wife loves the headrest!
7. The engine on this thing is great, Not to mention the six speed trans that allows you to really keep it in the sweet spot! Also, the sportronic shifting is great, and the only other car in the world to come with magnesium paddles like these is the 200k aston martin!
8. expect at least one trip back to your dealer to fix the damn clunking noise in the front end. Most of them do it, and its just a replacement of the knuckle and bearing assemble that corrects it. No biggie
9. Plenty of cup holders, and storage space,
10. Decent on gas mileage
11. Those big 18s look fabulous on this truck
12. grip, grip, and more grip (I cant wait till the factory goodyears wear out and I can throw on some good tires!)
13. GREAT SEATS, these have to be some of the most comfortable, and most supportive seats ever to be allowed into and suv
14. Go ahead and spend the money for the Rockford system, dont know about the nav system. I didnt get the rockford, and now I regret it. Oh well, live and learn
15. hmmmm.... anything else guys?

Soundcolor.

Thanks for the info. About the only negative things I have heard so far are the klunking up front which is apparently easily fixed and the lack of room in the third row. I am going to go and look at one tomorrow to see for myself. If it was needed could an adult sit in the third row for a short time? Not saying they need to be comfortable but can it be done?

Oh yeah, its not that its small, or cramped, its just not a big seat. Padding is pretty firm, and all, but yeah, someone could sit back there. Like your mother in law...
