Default Novline Floor mats or Mitsubishi OEM rubber floor mats?

A very important question!

For my (new to me) 2013 Otlander Sport, I need some more rugged/rubber mats as I only have the then stock carpet mats right now.

I'm not planning on going with WeatherTechs as they're $180...that's ridiculous.

So I think I'll be going with one of these two options:
1) The manufacturer rubber mats (MZ314487) which are around $100. Simple and straightforward; you know what you're getting.

OR

2) Novline floormats around $100 as well. They offer the higher walled construction and are supposedly "custom fit" similar to WeaterTech's. Also cover the middle of the passenger floor area. Most reviews are very good, though I haven't seen any for any Mitsubishi's. (plus I see they also have a matching cargo area mat available)

Thoughts?? Experiences??

I personally use Weathertech. Overpriced, maybe. But they do the R&D and they're made in the USA. So if you think the price is "ridiculous", I've seen used ones go on sale here. Also, in my searches, aside from the Novlines you mentioned, I've come across a couple knock off, digital fit liners. They were about 70% of Weathertech prices I think and had them for the Outlander, not sure about Sport. The OEM ones are overpriced in my opinion. I have OEM rubber mats in my other car. I scoffed at Weathertech's being more expensive when I bought these OEMs. I soon realized that the Weathertechs are superior to them. They are rubbery and mark up my shoes with black rubber. They are also hard to keep looking nice. The WT's are thinner and more plasticky. They stay clean and don't feel like you're rubbing up on your tire like OEM mats. They also aren't full liners like the Weathertech style ones. You live in Chicago, so you'll want full liners to contain melted snow and rain/mud. Bottomline, I say get the Weathertechs. I think there's a 10% AAA discount. They deserve our money for being innovative. And I think they are a local business to you. But I for one wouldn't judge you for choosing another option. They are pricey.

I've had the Weathertech mats in 3 vehicles...by far the best. I just hose them out and lightly scrub them with soap..look like new everytime. In this case I think you get what you pay for. Best of luck.

I have the Novline in my 13 Outlander... for $100 they are ok.... probably would have rather spent the $180 on the WeatherTechs though...

I have WeatherTech in my Durango and worth everypenny... far better construction than the Novline

My 2nd row is actually 2 pieces and its awkward to get to fit right...

I hope the OP comes back. IMO there is a "problem" with all these one-and-done posters who don't even come back to close up the thread they started. Makes me much less motivated to help noobs.

Back to topic, I agree, those Novlines don't really match up to WeatherTechs. Thanks for the pics, it makes it pretty clear. The fitment and material are definitely on a different level. Then again, some might be more price sensitive and not be as **** as me. WeatherTechs are awesome.

To add.. The Novline are a true rubber mat... the WeatherTech are molded plastic like (not much flexibility)

I prefer my Durango's WeatherTechs over the Novline... but the price difference was also a lot...

I'm going to pick up a set of Weather-tech mats next week from Craigslist for under $50
But if for some reason that deal falls through, I'll probably pick up a set of 3D MAXpider mats from eBay. I have a set in my pickup and they're really nice, even better than the Weather-tech in my opinion. Check'm out:

Default WeatherTech floor liners

Just got my complete well set Made in the USA - WeatherTech floor liners (1st, 2nd & 3rd row) plus cargo/trunk liner 2 weeks ago and YES, they are pricey BUT worth the money. It's perfect fits. Especially for the messy winter coming

There is the promotion at a local WeatherTech store. $7 off for each row or Google search for WeatherTech Promo Codes

I also have a set OEM All-Weather Floor Mats MZ314739 which I got free from the deals. I don't like these OEM 2nd row moving toward the front. Not too much - 1 cm to 2 cm but it moving when riding the kids in the back. I also have an OEM Cargo Mats MZ314736 and all OEMs stuff I will use them in the summer

Good luck!

Third row mat is a nice touch, can you leave them in place when putting the third row down?
