Default Outlander 2011 Bluetooth issue

Good day,

I bought a 2011 Outlander last June, but have not been able to get my phone connected with Bluetooth.

When I press the steering wheel phone buttons (short or long), nothing responds (MMCS or otherwise).

Some posts on this and other forums show similar issues. I followed
video to confirm that I have a Bluetooth module installed. Which I do.

I disconnected the bluetooth module and reconnected it, but it didn't help.
I read a suggestion to disconnect the car battery for a few minutes to reset the system. Which I did but didn't help.

Before I contact a dealer I figured I'd check here. Do any of you have another idea I could try to get a bluetooth connection working? Or to confirm that the bluetooth module is faulty?

Thanks,

Erik
