The manual for my audio system said that if you have an iPod that supports video, you can play it on the screen... but only while in park.

 

How do you structure your music folder, do you manage to get albums covers to show and if so how have you achieved that ?

I finally managed to get my phone book uploaded via bluetooth, had to dl the phone book as CSV, clean out all the rubbish and the upload it back to the phone. Bluetooth upload was then a success.

Now it goes back for a problem with the DAB, it was working and now when selected it just causes a complete reboot, clearing all the RDS stored informatin in the process, known fault according to the dealer.. that and the recall for the steering fault (and no offer for replacement car for the day, get the bus he said, i said its a recall and why should i have to cancel all my client meetings,, Grrr) has left us wondering whether we should just give it back.

anyway we are basically happy with the new outlander apart for the crappy service so far and the lack of DVD player in the front, which if you have kids is a boon for those long waits in the car park

 

As for structure of the music folders, it really doesn't seem to care. I tend to store one album per folder simply because that fits my listening style.

Somewhere in the manual it does state the maximum size for album artwork which I cannot remember what that is. Through trial and error I've settled on somewhere around 200X200 pixels for the artwork. I use a program called Mp3tag to rewrite the artwork on the .mp3 files. This works fine using SD cards or USB sticks. I've yet to figure out how to get artwork to display from an iPod.

 

has anyone tried a high speed sd card? like a class 4 or class 10 card?

max 700 folders in max 8 levels (root is no.1)
max 65,535 file
320 x 240 pixels for album picture id3 v1.0, 1.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4


so no video supported and no pictures for that matter, im unsure about ipod or ipad but I doubt it.
