Default Outlander 2016 GT interior lighting

Just received my GT (black on black). But driving it at night is scary because I can't see any buttons.

Does anyone have this problem?

Any USB lights available?

What buttons are you referring to? I never noticed not being able to access anything I needed.

I'm assuming you have the driving lights turned on manually? Otherwise, the "button lights" will be off.

Buttons related to air conditioning.

See my post. Are you turning the main driving lights on?

None of the interior lights (cluster, dash, etc) come on until you do so.

sorry if i wasn't being specific. I have day time running lights on AUTO. and it works. Dash lights get turned on once it gets dark outside.

but only Dash and infotainment display have lights. nothing else.

Can't see the button for window defogger switch, gear shifter, auto AC etc....

The AC and Defrogger light comes on when you enable / press them to come on. They are off, because they are off, literally.

As for the gear shifter, there's no light there nor would I expect there to be - but my 2013 has a beautiful ghostly red light lighting up everything in that area - not sure about the 2016. That light comes from beneath the main cluster in the recessed storage / cargo area where the cig lighter plug, fourth cup holder, etc, are.

Try physically turning on the driving lights (why haven't you?) and if there are any additional lights in that interior area, they will come on at that time.

Also - don't forget to set the interior lights at "full" - they may have been set on the dimmest setting without you realizing it.

You guys are absolutely right. Guess i wasn't paying attention.
The warm red light has always been there. I just never turned it on

Now my GT is flawless.

Thanks!

You got me worried so i went to check. All buttons light up nicely. I really like the ergonomics of this car for the most part. Very intuitive compared to the other big brands. It's a good compromise from the old school simple and the modern electronic based systems. But i digress. Buttons and info all light up and are where they should be.
