Default Outlander and EVO steering wheels

Does anyone knows the steps of disassembling the Outtie steering wheel and vice versa steps? Or has the instruction diagram?

Same question to the Lancer EVO steering wheel.

Do I need to take out the airbag first??

Further, are there any precautions that i should be aware of when dissembling or assembling? such like, the air bag (looks like it's only plug & play); do i need to reprogram anything at dealer? etc....

Greatly appreciate your inputs.

First things first, I would remove the negative battery terminal before touching anything airbag related.

Typically steering wheels come apart fairly easily. Just jump in with a screw driver and start removing the screws in sight. Should be simple.

I also found many articles relating to this when I googled it, so if you still can't figure it out google definitely has your answer.

It can be done. Very easily. Plug and play. Make sure you get the evo/ralliart steering wheel with radio controls.

I just did it today. Plug and play. Everything works! no error codes. Pretty Easy. You will need to get a steering wheel puller.

Autozone will rent them to you for free. (just deposit $20, you get it back when you return it). You will also need a 17mm socket. deep would be better.

Go to home depot and grab (2) bolts 8mm-1.25 by 75mm long or longer. You will need them for this tool. ($3 at homedepot) If not, buy the Mitsubishi steering wheel puller....prob costs over $100............

I do not know the part numbers. I bought the wheel from a member of the evoxforums for $350 shipped
