Default Outlander Sport / ASX parts question

Does anyone know if ASX parts/accessories will fit a US Outlander Sport? I've seen DRL parts for the ASX and was wondering if they could be fitted on my 2011 outlander sport. There's a road I take to work everyday which requires DRL...having a true DRL system (as opposed to turning on my low beams) installed would make that a little more convenient.

thanks!

I thought this could be done via ETACS programming. If you have an Outlander Sport SE it will have the automatic headlights so there is already a daylight sensor installed. You should check the ETACS ECU programming thread before buying parts.

Also, where the hell do you live where there is a road that requires DRL's?

It's a setting in ETACS ECU. It turns on high beams at low power (or fog light with HIDs) when you release the parking brake.

Thanks guys. I had one dealer tell me that it was not possible through the car's etacs, but they also had no idea what the FUSE system was or how to update it. I'll check with another dealer or try to tackle the project myself.

I live in southern California...there's a little two lane road the requires DRL. Right now I just keep the HIDs on, but that's not what I want to keep doing.

thanks again!

So this may be a dumb question, but does anyone know what changing the DRL settings through ETACS would entail? I've read the posts on the Lexia tool which can access the ETACS settings, but my laptop doesnt meet the software reqs and I dont want to change the OS or buy a new laptop (plus I'm worried I would fry the ECU in my car). I'm afraid I may have to go to the dealer to get this done....and I'm thiking I may have to walk them through it (I had to walk them through updating the software on the FUSE system and I walked away shaking my head...)

Also, would it require buying new fog light assemblies (with the dual bulbs in each housing) as used the Canadian RVR?

thanks!

You can just install XP on a VM if you are using the old software. There is only one type of fog light, so you shouldnt need any new hardware.
