Default Outlander Tint Scratches

Are many of you experiencing vertical scratches on your window tint from non felted inner weather strips inside the door panel that rub against your tint?

It would look like this.

Yes, I have a few scratches on my front tinted windows. Nothing really that bad. This is a known issue with the Outlander and has been brought up on this forum before.

Tint Protector sells the felt to stop the scratches. I know the install is the same for all cars. The only difference is how to pop open the door panel to gain access to the inside weather strip you install the felt on.

Maybe their universal kit or the Lancer kit?

Isn't it also dependent on the type of tint? In my Outlander I installed cheapo tint and it's all scratched up and in other car I used scratch resistant and it appears to be fine so far.

i ordered felt , $20 (Tint Protect) and have the tint shop to re-tint, 2nd time, and replace the felt. After almost 1 yr, the scratches are back but not as bad as 1st time. I also checked with different tint shops for the scratch resistant tint, it MAY work but no one will warranty / guarantee. Then talked to one of lead teah. @ mitsubishi dealer .. he said they "noticed" issue but for those who purchased 2007 to 2009 model, mitsubish does not issue any TSB for the felt / inner insert for windows. Because it is NOT safety issue. I will try to get the 2010 - 2011 window felt / inner insert AGAIN to fix the scratch.

Yup my tint guy was glad to see the 2011 has the felt. He had to do the 2008 over after a year.

My 2012 looks to have the felt also.
Your tint shop should be able to add the felt as part of the job, unless you are tinting yourself?
