Default Outlander & windshield liquids...

In my old van I did not care what kind of windshield liquids I used ( you know the 1 gallon for .99 cents ). Now that winter is coming and the whole works... I wanted to know what kind of windshield liquid is best for the Outlander (I mean, unless mitsu. also has a part number for their windshield liquids) [8D]

The owner's manualonly talks aboutthe obvious requirement of a liquid that won't freeze in the winter, but does not give any recommendation other than that. The other concern would be something that would not damage the paint if some liquid ended up getting sprayed onit. I would go to an auto parts store and ask for their advice, and read the labels on the bottles carefully.

i always have used Rain-X. love the yellow crap during winter. works wonders on freezing rain (however the hell that stuff manages to come down i dont know) i also saw Rain-Xpraised by a tv show i watch, and they are all about high quality products, so i felt a bit better about my choices.

ive never found discoloring or stripping of paint or anything like that. its just a mild detergent is all, with a bit of deadly booze in it to melt ice if u buy the ice melter stuff.

i used the summer rain-x once in late november and it turned into slush and i could not use it while driving. but when i got into my heated garage, it melted within 3 mins and sprayer out again. i kept spraying till it was drained out and refilled it with the winter stuff.
it was a pain in the *** driving that day cause my windshield was smudged with crap.
