Default overhead dvd player

Happy new Year!
Does anybody has an overhead dvd player in his car?I've got an Alpine with 10 inch screen and went to installers today .They advise me to install it in place of the dome lights. The problem is that theyhad not performed a similar install for an Outlander. So,before letting them experiment on my car,I would like to know where is the best position for this thing to be mounted? Thanks!

I dont have one, but from the pics Ive seen the rear DVD system is right in front of the dome lights. I wouldnt let them take out my dome lights anyways.

On Mitsu's site you can barely see the dome light still there with the rear DVD system: http://www.mitsubishicars.com/MMNA/j...?loc=en-us#int

Thanks! This is a great idea!I'll check with Mitsubishi dealer if they are willing to install it.Hopefully they don't mind to work with the aftermarket components.

Today I install an original RES mitsubishi in my Outlander 2007 with sunroof. In the documentation of the kit of installation there are two pattern paper: with sunroof version without sunroof version. Very easy the instructions and I preserve the original pattern paper. . .

can you please scan the instruction manual, and post it here? I just want to see if it's within my skills to install it. Might buy one when my baby is a little bigger. By the way, what are the needed parts? did you have to buy an install kit (i think there's one for, and w/o the sunroof)? what part numbers are the RES and the install kit, and for how much total? thanks.

and btw, after install, can you watch what's playing in the RES on the mmcs screen in front(when parked)?

Did other countries dont have DVD Players avaible in their Outlanders?

In Canada, where I live, I got my outlander with a Navi system plus a DVD on the back. I didn't chose this package, beacuse my car was a demo. But when I look on the Canada Mitsu website, there is only 1 package on the XLS model, and that is 650 watts sub, 30GB Music, Navi, DVD, and all the other goodies...

1. I scan in file PowerPoint the documentation of the RES, but I cannot upload it to the forum, any suggestion?
2. The package of the RES includes all hardware and necessary documents to install the system, and yes,a kit of installation comes included, basically it is abracket, 1 harness, RCAadapter, 2 wireless headphones...
3. A kit exists for version withoutsunroof and other one for the version with sunroof.
4. Parts numbers:
RES - MZ306143EX
Installation kit RSE with sunroof - MZ360163EX
Installation kit RSE without sunroof - MZ360164EX
5. Even I do not have the total cost..
6. I follow the steps of the thread "Euro solution, connecting rear seat dvd and mmcs " and it works to the perfection, credit for rdenis and pkpaperinik...

In Mexico there is a version with dvd butnot sunroof, and another version withsunroof butnot dvd, nothing of accessories as MMCS, HID, RES (for the price) and not package. I install the MMCS and the RES but I buy them in USA, and in two weeks I wait for the kit of Mitsubishi's original HID

Does the original mitsurear DVD handle many formats (divx and others)?Or is it DVD-playback only?
