So I have an 07 Outlander XLS with the OEM Rockford Fosgate radio (no navigation) and overhead DVD player. How can I get the sound from the DVD to play through the stereo?

I read that you can press and hold the CD button which turns out to AUX mode but I get no sound from the DVD. Any ideas?

 

I'm not sure what the situation is with non-MMCS equipped cars like yours, but with cars that have the nav unit and overhead dvd player, there is a harness that you need to install in order to get the audio from the dvd player to play over the car speakers. I installed it in my '12 and it wasn't fun. See the last post on this thread for details:

Bought some aftermarket wireless headphones on Craigslist... still no sound through the speakers but oh well.
