paint front skid plate extension
hi, anyone here paint your front skid plate extension ( the piece in the botton of your front bumper) to match the color of your car? i had a ES, my outlander is silver, and the piece is black, i want to paint it silver? any idea hot to paint it?

...thats funny. mine was silver and i wanted it to be black. ('08 xls)
anyway...... sand lightly (#600 paper ) , prime and then paint.
i used kryon prducts as i just wantd a satin black finish.
that part is very "paintable"..just take your time.
p.s. i did my roof rails the second day i had the car. used the same method and products.
the rails still look great after dozens of washings/cleanings.

My ES is diamond white pearl and the contrast between the white and black skid plate looksnice. My biggest concern would be keeping the black plastic looking good over time. On most carsthe black trim they may have tends to fade in color over time.
