Default Parking Sensor Wiring

Hello,

I am tring to install reverse parking sensors onto my 2008 outlander, similar as per attached photo, however am stuck trying to work out how to wire the sensor to the control box.

I have successfully wired the controller into the reverse light wire close to the rear left wiring harness combination. However, after drilling the first hole in the rear left of bumper, I cant work out how to wire the sensor from the bumpber through to the controller, which is located in the rear-left compartment inside the boot.

I am also not sure how I should wire the rear right sensor through to the controller as well.

Do I need to remove the bumper to find a route through? Would appreciate any assistance for someone who has done this.

Since you have a trailer connector, you can follow it. It must connect to the connector above the right-rear wheel well (you can pull out the pocket above it to verify)

here are the pics.

Pic1:
you need to remove the whole left cover (marked in red) and not only the small cover (marked in yellow).
the blue arrow mark the area that you will find the hole.

Pic2:
there is a rubber cover under the left bumper behind the left wheel.
you can see in red how I wired it.

* include the rubber cover in the installation, just make and hole to pass the wires. make sure the place is still sealed after your installation.

Thats mine in your first question/ picture!
The way I did it was to open the bottom tailgate, remove the plastic hinge covers at both ends, then thread the cable from right to left, remove the big speaker from left rear and then connect wires from both sensors to reverse light circuit and to the 'bleeper' control box, whole job took about 20 mins including cutting holes for the sensors. 'Simples' as they say on telly! good luck!
