Default Popped Lean code

Hey guys help me out here . I recently added a short ram cold air intake to my 2.4 outlander hoping it would help gas mileage . I was wrong ! Evidently fuel injection working harder and air/fuel is off cause it has too much oxygen level . So my question is should I extend the pipe to the grill area or build a sealed shrowed around it and make a scoop in hood to suck cold air away from engine bay . My research specified that warm air from engine bay will affect the map sensor reading theowing it Lean . Ideas ?

What yr Outlander do you have.
FYI, the stock box on the 14 to newer Big O's are just fine. If you are looking for better perf. and mileage, go back to the stock box setup, run a clean filter (or after market high flow one) and install an aluminum crank pulley. My wifes 14 model has the pulley as well as my 16 model and the girls 17 outlander sport. All 2.4 motors. Mine also has the RRM timing controller and the plugs gapped just a hair wider than stock. (we also use premium fuel, 91 oct. minimum) I haven't gotten into the exhaust "yet" but the 2.4 with these mods Spanks the V6 GT models easily and my fuel mileage is slightly better in the wifes 14 than my 16 due to my foot and the happy pedal.
Sorry, but I'm afraid you've wasted money on the intake, unless you're willing to spend more on ridiculas go fast parts.
