Default Problem with installing Clarion NX702 in 2010 Outlander XLS

I have completed the wiring of a Clarion NX702 with the required Amp Interface MITO-02 per the instruction provided in my 2010 Outlander XLS. Very carefully to follow instruction(http://www.carid.com/images/axxess/a...structions.pdf) and proceed according to the instruction manual and install procedures. When I start the car the unit does not come on. I turn on the headlights, the units illumination comes on. The door of the unit will open when pressing the 'open' button and will also close. But the unit itself will not power on. I have found that if I start the car, open the door, and then turn on my lights, the screen will display the 'Clarion' logo for a short time and I can hear the fan in the back come on. It will do this for about 5 secs and then turn off, never booting to to the OS.
I have already sent one unit back(amazon) thinking it was defective, but the next new unit is doing the same thing, so it has to be something I'm doing wrong. I have looked everywhere to figure the issue out and no one seems to know or have reported this. Any help of feedback would be helpful.

Can you buy the unit from Crutchfield? They have good tech support.
