Question Programming computer for added OEM Fog Lights

Outie ’08, Just added OEM fog lights, all done and when came to the programming part, there is no sound from the buzzer. Is there a different procedure for entering the programming code?
What I did is, closed doors while sitting on the driver’s seat, waited 30 sec, buckled up both seatbelts, turned key to “ON”, opened and closed drivers door 5 times, turned on the fog light switch… no sound to confirm the programming mode !?! Must be a different procedure, or I am doing something terribly wrong
Any ideas?

alopandur, the procedure says "within 10 seconds, open and close a door 5 times", and I don't see that mentions about the 10 seconds. Are you are opening/closing the door within those 10 seconds?

alopandur, if the procedure shared by mitsupartsman does not work in your Out, I believe that your dealer will have to make the programming with MUT III tool

Thanks Guys, I was hoping to finish the installation by myself, but it looks I'll have to pay a visit to my dealer/shop. I have followed the said procedure (when you buy the OEM part the installation manual comes with it) but in my case it doesn't work. My car is less then 5 months old and I haven't been to the service yet, but hoping to meet the service guys there and will discuss the issue (if they are friendly enough to share the findings). If I have any more info, will let you all know.

Cheers.

An update to this thread. I installed the OEM fog kit yesterday and was successful in programming the ECU to recognize the fogs. It didn't work at first but then I tried putting the ignition switch in the ACC position first, then turned it to OFF and started the procedure. The programming worked on the first try with this method. Not sure if it was a fluke but it's worth a try for those doing this install.

This was on an '08 Outlander

Thanks for the update Canuck,
I took my car to the dealer's shop in North Vancouver and they programmed it. They charged me a 1/2 an hour the shop time...

Hi guys i programmed my fogs today i think where it says turn on fogs it should be lights, and then hold fogs on for 3 seconds, and that is it. it worked for me, the symbol goes on and off on the dash when you turn light switch twice and both off when turn other way twice again and i didnt need a new indicator switch.
Hope this helps
cheers
