Default Question about Battery replacement

Hi all, wondering if any anyone tried replacing their battery?

I don't have to do it yet but was just looking at it outside and was a bit puzzled.

On the 2011 Outlander Sport, there is some kind of Air intake right above the Battery. It is down the middle of the battery and quite big to be honest.

In the Service Manual, it didn't say anything about removing that intake at all, does that mean when changing the battery, one just simply slide the battery to the side?

I am starting to prepare my cars for Winter (Canadian Winters are terrible) and am a bit lost on this....

Any one did this before?

The tube pops out of the air box. Unscrew the tab and pull the tube out
