Rear DVD system to play on the car speaker?

Hello!

My wife and I recently purchased a 2008 Mitsubishi outlander XLS, which comes with the DVD rear system. I am also able to play DVD's up front on the navigation/radio screen. When I place the DVD in the front, the volume goes through the vehicle speakers, which is great! However, when I use the rear DVD system, I am only able to get sound through the wireless headsets. I have 2 sets of wireless head phones (rear DVD system) and my wife has 4 kids in the car during car pool and they all want to hear the movie.

My question is, am I able to get the rear DVD player's sound go through the car speakers, rather than the wireless head phones?? I've spent a long time reading the manual and trying different things to no avail. I did notice that my remote control does not have a "speaker" button, which I thought was odd.

Anyway, any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I bought another pair of wireless headphones at Best Buy. Temporary resolution!

I have 2007 Outlander Australian version with RES as well. Though I don't have the MMCS but I have the Rockford Fosgate radio, I can output the audio of the rear DVD through the speakers. While playing the rear DVD, just press on the CD button for about 5 secs or until you see the REAR display which outputs the DVD on the car speakers.

Hope this helps.

Very cool! I will give this a try later this evening after work. I will let you know if it does the trick.
Thanks for chiming in. ;-)

Well, I gave it a try with no luck. The CD button does not light up, until I actually put a CD in. Once I put a CD in, I try to hold down on the CD button, but it automatically pulls up the CD information. It was worth a try. However, I did learn that the CD's are being burned to the music server, so I do not have to put the CD in anymore. =-)

My Rockford Fosgate radio doesn't have physical buttons. Is it supposed to work even with touch screen only?
