I am pretty sure that pin is already relayed.
First, I hear distinctive click while switching rear fogs on and off.
Second - more important - there's no relay shown on Euro Outlander's diagram. From pin 14 connection goes directly to rear fogs.
Already got wire and Cree LEDs, will install once I get bulb connectors.

Installed wire from ETACS to rear right fog.

The most tricky part was between rear door and fog (sub-woofer doesn't let internal panel go off). Let wire out to rear fog through rubber plug where left tail light harness goes.

Vadimus, do you have a rear fog light fuse populated on your ETACS? My car is Japanese domestic and although the wiring diagram shows a fuse and relay for the rear fogs internal to the ETACS the fuse position is unpopulated (not even any terminals to insert a fuse) and the pin on the connector (the C-311 but it has a different number in the JDM diagram) is missing.

At one point I tried opening up the ETACS to see how easy it would be to add the missing terminals but got no where. In the end I just built my own toggle circuit driving a relay wired up to a switch next to the ASC switch.

I just inserted the pin (actually a stripped and soldered end of the wire) into the hole in C-311 (C-411 in JDM version AFAIK), and that's it!

As for fuse/relay - relay presents for sure as it clicks, and fuse #3 powers the rear fogs.

Rear fogs - 95% done.

At a Part Source store I found these great bulb sockets ($5 ea):

It is about 22mm in diameter, the same size as most parking sensors, so I just used 22mm drilling thingy which came with parking sensors kit.
However, due to heat expansion during drilling the hole becomes a bit bigger, so I increased socket's diameter covering it with a few layers of electric tape so it is air-tight now.

As unlike Euro fogs mine don't have a reflector inside so I used a Cree Q5-based LEDs with lens (I am LED-addicted):

2 PCS High Power CREE Q5 7W LED T10 T15 W5W White Backup Reverse Light lamp Bulb | eBay

Connected negative wire to existing marker light wire using vampire connector.

Here is the look at the bright sunny day:

The only thing left to do is soldering small LED to make dash rear fog indicator work.

Rough budget:
$11 LEDs + $12 sockets + $7 wire = $30.
I think potential safety enhancement is worth that money.

I was wondering if its possible to just order the EU rear lamps and install them to my USA 09 outlander?

JDM Japanese Auto Parts specialists | japanparts.com

OR

if it was possible to just drill holes to fit bulb sockets and just run the wires in parallel with the rear side marker light, just by splicing into the wire? would i need resistors? and i dont mind if all the lights turn on at the same time, thats actually what i'm looking for..

Great news of your project Vadimus, I myself used the original units for drilling holes and adding the rear fog function, but finally I bought two OEM rear fog units to JAPANPARTS, and the difference in performance between OEM and modified units is very obvious, so I suggest that the best option is to try to get the rear fog OEM units. the way I did this project was completely different because my LEXIA didn´t work so I don't use the ETACS contol, but still works my method. I don't soldered LED to my new color cluster's motherboard, instead I installed a relay and wired from this relay to supplies power to LED and rear fog units.

I thought I should include this in this thread:

Success!

The idea of a wireless 2-rear fog light in a Mitsubishi Outlander has been since 2011. No one has contributed to this topic and the reason may be many. However, I must say that the main reason may be the technical difficulties that may have to be carried out to put in practice such an idea.

I am satisfied that after producing several prototype models using RF remote transmitters and 2-capable receivers I have invented a very small system that indeed replace the job of running a wire under the car carpet, and drilling.

My prototype has received approval from VOSA and IVA test Department of the UK government as a safe way of implementing a dual rear fog light in a car suited for the American market.

My system consists of 1-transmitter (with 1-button) that control simultaneously 2-receivers. One receiver is located hidden under the driver dashboard close to the OEM rear fog light switch. The objective of this receiver is to illuminate the rear fog light switch. The other receiver is at the rear of the car, in a little box (80 x 80 x 50 mm) that incorporates all the appropriate harness to make the system operate as required.

The RF system is just an addition to the bumper harness already with the rear bumper that incorporates the side marker lights in a car for the American market.

The receiver dimension is 60 x 35 x 20 mm and the transmitter (fob) 50 x 35 x 10 mm. The transmitter is wired to the dip light. The transmitter is positioned at the driver dashboard.

If you are interested in this system please show your interest in this forum. The system I have invented is also applicable to any make of car not just Mitsubishi.

Total cost is around $50, and you do not need ETACS-ECU.

I like the term "invention" you are using here.
Did you patent it?
