Ok, i got you there...but what are people actually using?

A 4" rise or 4" drop turned upside down?
I just check on mine because I still have the sticker with the price and description from the shop on the receiver and it say 4' drop on it and I use it upside down. Hope that help !

Yes sir that answers my question...thanx! After looking at one that is actually called a 4" Rise I knew it wasn't the same as what you had.

How thick is the base of your receiver?

I'm guessing it's 3/4" so when you flip ityouhave a 4-3/4" rise.

That would be a 2-3/4 rise

I am running the Curt hitch, and went with a DrawTite ball mount. It is 8-1/8" long from center of pin hole to center of ball hole and has 2-3/4" rise or 4" drop from the top of the hitch's receiver tube. As you can see, you cant get much closer on clearance than that with the tail gate down! There are more pics on the 4th page of the sticky hitch install https://mitsubishiforum.com/m_147067..._4/key_/tm.htm

My bad, I measured from the top of the tube instead of the bottom.

I guess I may have to get a longer receiver length (11-1/4") like Roaches to ensure that I clear the tailgate with a 4"drop or 2-3/4" rise. I have a 5-1/4" drop hitch that would make it a 3-3/4" rise. I have a feeling it may be too high to keep the trailer level though.

Thanx again.
