Default Remote Start for 2008 Outlander

Hello
I’m looking to buy a Remote Start on eBay, and I’m wondering if anyone has already put one in and how many modules do you needed for it to work. I know I would need an immobilizer module, but not sure if I need any others modules? Any help would be great.[/align]

Do you have a FAST key? If you do, this will make remote start a challenge.

Yes, I do have fast start. I was going to remove my remote from my key and see if I can start the truck with only a key at least that would give me some idea on how much if a challenge it would be.

Mitsu has a remote start kit for the 2009 models and other than a possible ETACS issue, i don't see why it wouldn't work for the earlier years. the kit includes a rf controller, an ecu, the wiring, and an antenna. it also includes its own remote which you can program yourself. the kit would cost you $440.00

Wow thats nice that there is a OEM solution to the remote start issue. I would recommend going that route. The last person on here that talked about the steps on doing a aftermarket setup said that he had to give up one of the FAST key remotes to stay in the car all the time.

i ended giving up my spare emergency key just to have a starter put in last year
it works fine...but when that oem starter interface comes out officially ill definitely have it put in to get my other key back
my installer told me that theres an aftermarket transponder available
the only prob with it is that mitsu NA dealers will not program it, unlike mitsu Canada...but thats according to him

That remote looks similar to the ones they offer in Japan as an accessory since the 06 models came out. I'm interested how the main unit is installed.

Apparently, this is the receiver for the OEM remote start, and apparently it is a accessory for the japanese models only; will be only to verify this information, but if works for ours Out, will be a great accessory. . .
