Rocker Panel Cover Part # Help
I would like toget the part number on the 2008 SE only Rocker Cover Panels. I believe this panel will take care of the paint chipping problems that we have on our Outlanders.
I was over at my Dealer gettingmy 7500oil change and sawa new 2008 SE Outlander on the lot. I noticed that it was sporting a different rocker panel cover than I have and have seen on 2007 & 2008 Outlanders. It sticks out about 2-3 inches (or more) than mine and has a nice chrome strip/trim on it. There were other 2008s, but only this SE had it. I crawled under to look for a part# and to check how it is attached. It attaches exactly like mine (6 screws on bottom and many clips on back side) but did not find a part number. I asked the part's counter, but he said he couldn't find anything on his computer. I even gave him theVIN from the window sticker. I attached a cell-phone pic and if you go to edmunds.com you will see the difference when you look at pics of the SE and the other trims. It looks like only the SE gets this cover and also the chrome strip and chrome handles. This cover is not an accessory item.
If anyone has access to mitsubishi's part listing or has a friend working in the parts department see if you can get the part number.
Here is the VIN from the SE: JA4LS31W88Z012734

I don't know if it helps, but you can get the part number from the Euro Accessory Catalogue. It may be different for NA though and perhaps you can only get it as replacement part versus an accessory.
Here are the MitsubishiOEM Part numbers

Thanks djnman. I will run those numbers past my local Mitsubishi Part's counter and see what they charge. Do the covers come with the chrome strip or is that an additional cost? If you get time after the rocker covers arrive let us know if they are "easy on" direct replacments.
I ran the numbers by my dealer and they are $530 each side for the "air dams"...a little too steep of a price to stop the sandblasting effect! He mentioned that if there is enough demand that mitsubishi might off a package deal down the line for a little better price, but he was speculating.
Your dealer is quoting your list price for those. They can be found much cheaper. I paid about 380.00. Iam going to put them on an XLS.. It will dress it up a bit.
Have you tried the OEM mud guards to prevent the paint 'sandblasting' effect?

I put the OEM Mudguards on the first month of ownership, but still have alittle paint chipping on rear doors. The rocker panel covers have 4 nice sandblast spots (2 each side)...Wisconsin lays a LOT of salt and sand in the winter. I do believe the mudguards saved me from getting much more damage than I have.
Did you get that pricing from your above referenced dealer/e-mail? What was the shipping charge?Definitly let me know if they come with that nice chrome strip in my pic.

www.parts.com have them for $370 a side. http://www.parts.com/oemcatalog/inde...archCatalogOEM
I've ordered parts for my Land Cruiser from them before with no problems and they usually have the best prices.
