Default rough idle

when i put my new intake and adapter on my outlancer it began to miss quite a bit but when i would reinstall the old intake the missing was gone. so i thought maybe it was a vacuum leak. I took the initiative and sealed the adapterwith a gasket maker. i thought the problem was fixed but after a few minutes of driving the rough idle an miss returned. now the original intake is on the car and it runs fine. Any ideas?

If your check engine light is on - the ecu is registering a code. It is doubtful that this will simply disappear.

You need to have the code read to diagnose what the problem is.
