Default SELF MAINTENCE

Hi guys, I know this might be a repost but, just to tell what just happend today. I went in the morning to the dealer to have the 5,000km maintence, when I bought the car, the first maintence cost $60, but for my surprise when I get there they have rise the price to $110.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm so mad right know...... My intentions has always be to take the care for 1 year just to make sure I have the maintence and if it comes out any problem with the car, the dealer will change the part.

but with that price, I'm going to take the chances.. so

[ol][*]does anyone has the maintence for the car, I know there are in the book but i know there are some schedule mades for mechanics[*]does anyone knows how to hack the computer just to take out the maintence reminder beeping?[/ol]
Thanks

Not sure what you mean by the first question??

Theres a sticky at the top that explains everything about the service reminder.

hmm I meant that in the manual says what has to be check, repair, or change.

but I know for example, when I had the Evo, there was a PDF for tha maintence for the mechanic, with all things that had to be check or change.

Oh I see, so what you want is something along the lines of a service manual. Theres also a sticky at the top were you can get this, good luck.

why would you take your car for 5,000km maitenance? The only thing that needs to be changed is oil. You don't need to take it until 20km maitenance. I believe it's 15k/30k/60k/90k (miles) when you need to take for maintenance.

you know, you probably don't have 07+ Outlander or you are looking at the wrong book... At least 07+ Outlander first "service" is at 7,500 miles (12,000km) which is rotate tires and oil changes.

well Ilive in Panama, here we dont use milles, and manual and dealer says its every 5,000km

I know the first 5,000 its only oil, and that I was so mad with them, $100 bucks just for that.. I did it my self and only spent around $30 in getting the oil and filter

believe me I did see the manual in the glove box

5000 km is the lowest interval I've met so far. Even the cheapest (worst) car I drove so far (Daewoo Matiz produced locally, 0,7l engine) had to run 10.000km between oil changes.
Maybe that is THE FIRST aftersales inspection.
I fund it also to Hyunday here, at 7500km, and is free of charge (next one is at 15000 and you have to pay for it). VW goes directly to 15000.

Most of us should be following the "severe" schedule anyway, which starts at 3,750miles, and yes thats on the 07's+.

The only services I will have my dealer handle are the 30k,60k,,90k, and 150k because those require an extensive list of technical services that I can't perform at home, such as inspecting the MIVEC system and adjusting intake and exhaust valve clearances.
