Should I be pissed at my dealer or what?
Ok heres is an update.
I told the service manager about the problem and the arguement I used. I told them about the arguement that I should not have been charged for it based on guessing labor hours and such being the expert here on what is involved.
After the blah blah, the manager told the advisor to come in his office explaining it. I re-explained I wanted the Fog installed. Then both of them said they thought was the OEM Fog to install which was the original DRL on the outtie which when I called in so it was a straight forward install. They also said as soon as the mechanic took off the grill, realize that everything needs to be off b/c of the different harness. Thats when the advisor ask the $500 extra so I declined.
The manager explained to me that putting it back was the charge...so I just respectfully said bye. I was ticked since I know they don't want to refund it. or they have the excuse saying that the labor to put it back was a charged have to happen.
I'm just going to dispute with my credit for my money back and explain it to them.
Meanwhile, can any1 tell me how to contact the regional manager about this? Or do I go on mitsu's site and call that 800#?

ok i just read your post and decided to see what the BIG deal is about taking the bumper off.
[ol][*]so i pulled in an outie off the lot[*]lifted it up and removed the lower cover clips on the right side[*]removed the clips attaching the splash sheild to the bumper cover[*]unclipped the upper retainer from the bumper and removed the DRL[*]15 MINUTES!!![/ol]

basically i wanted to see what the problem was with the wire harness, and found out the bulb connectors are different so the harness needs to be changed.
[ol][*]so i removed the 4 clips holding the top of the grill[*]pulled the grill straight up and removed it[*]the main connector to the wire harness is right in the center[*]you can rout the harness down to the lamps from here[/ol]
being that the grill was already removed this step would have taken a half hour tops...

goto a collision shop and get a written estimate of what it would cost to have the bumper removed and the lamps and harness replaced
write a letter to the general manager and the dealer principal maybe even the BBB telling them you were quoted one price basicly bait and switched and give them a copy of the estimate
which will be much less than $500.00. you wanted to do business with them and are probably still willing to let them finish the job. your just not willing to pay for somebody elses on the job
training.
or just get your money back and do it yourself. its really not that hard. if i were doing it i would perform the same steps on both sides, remove the lower cover completely and the four upper clips on the top of the bumper and the bumper would be off. you do not need to disassemble the bumper any further.

I was lazy and paid $225 at the dealer for installation. I waited over 4 hours in the service waiting room. They were actuallynot happy about the price, since I called before and they quoted $189 to me. I told them I called three times and spoke with the service manager. So the best price they gave me was $225. I think it was a steal.
It works well at night time, because you have the license plate dome lights above to shine into the camera. It's well worth the price and it's clear day and night. I'll try to snap shot this weekend.
Thanks for the awesome pricing Mitsupartsman.
