Some Help on Tires!!!
#21
About a thousand on the Yoko TRZs. Much quieter, slightly softer ride..seems to be a little more rolling resistance according to my informal road I used to barely maintain speed while coasting down..but it has a few less psi than I used in the stockers. Haven't noticed any significant change in mileage

I just replaced my OEM Goodyears on my 07 XLS at 23,000 miles. IMO, terrible tires and glad to see the back of them. Even though it looked like there was a little bit of tread left before they truly needed replacing, something was not right - was getting a "whup-whup-whup" sound on smooth roads.
I got Falken Ziex ZE-912's in the factory size 225/55/18 - good deal at $500 fitted/balanced for four.
Very impressed so far - much quieter than the stock Goodyear OEM crap and seems more surefooted too. Not bad at all for a cheaper manufacturer; but I do think these guys along with Kumho have really raised their game over the last few years.

I agree that the miles you can get out of a set of tires varies widely depending upon the vehicle and driver.
In the customer reviews for the Long Trail T/A's several persons commented that they got well over the 60,000 miles out of them.
As far as weight goes, I believe the curb weight of my 2WD 4 cyl ES is only 3400 pounds which isn't that much when compared to a truck based SUV.

I'm wondering if it's the front wheel drive and weight that really eat up tires..Going through tire rack reviews, the tirewear complaints are mostly for CUV and Minivan drivers..
on both my Outtie and my VUE..the outsides wore much more than the insides..even with good rotation..Looking at the camber, you can see why
