Default steering knukle

I have a 2008 xls and on the weekend while taking a lefthand turn the the outlander stoped dead with the passenger side front tire at weird angle. I had it towed to the dealer, to find out that the steering knukle had snaped! Now they are trying to decide if it is a warrenty issue or accident damage. It has never been in a accident, and there is no rim damage as they said maybe I may have hit a curb. So I was wondering if anyone has heard of this before.

since you have an xls, you have aluminum rims. that'd have to be an awfully funny angle to hit a curb that does no damage to an aluminum rim, but snaps a steel knuckle.

If you have problems with the dealership, raise it up with MMNA (Mitsubishi Motors North America).

You sure it was the knuckle and not something like a tie-rod?

It is the knuckle. They are covering it under warrenty for now, but are sending the parts to Mitsubishi canada for "futher investigation" as they call it. They may say no, and then they will bill me for the repairs. I do have pics but don't know how to upload them.
