Default SubWoofer Install

Hey Manybrews, is the head unit on the 07 outi made by mitsubishi or some other? any idea if there are any low level RCA outputs at the back. I just wanna hook up an ampand run a single sub along with the stock stereo system.

Here rdenis pulled his head unit. No RCA plugs in the back of this one. I have been doing alot of research on trying to put in a bigger sub. I so far found that a HI/LOW impedance adaptor can help. It takes speaker wire and turns it into RCA female ends. I cant find a single channel one yet. I plan on cutting the stock sub woofer wire going to the stock amp and running them to an impedance adaptor. Then have RCAs for a bigger amp. Im hoping this way will allow sub control through the head unit still.

I've ordered some RCA adaptors as a backup plan http://www.incarexpress.co.uk/view_p...p?partno=PX043but I'm not sure if they'll produce the quality. I've seen an amp with it's own remote control so at least I'll be able to turn it down a little if it's overkill compared to the rest of the speakers. Plan is to order the Fosgate housing and install my own 10" more powerfull sub. I'm not after punch but more low frequency deep *** bass. I just hope there's a 10" that will give me that without bustin my wallet! Any quality issues on amps which run on speaker level inputs rather than RCA inputs anyone?

Have you listened to the original Fosgate that's in the Outlander?

Fosgate only comes with the top spec system with Nav head unit which I don't want, I spent sh*t loads on the factory harmon kardon upgrade when i bought my last car "sub woofer here, amp their, umpteen speakers here and there and it sounded like ***! the brochure and salesman sold me a load of technical BS about sound quality. so I thought next time I'll upgrade myself for a fraction of the cost and get it sounding how I want.
