Default Support for the Outlander (parts)

I love my Outie. But Mitsubishi is failing its Outie buyers. This is now the 3rd year of production for this incarnation of the Outie. I can understand that the numbers of Outies sold in the US were quite low and a little better in canada but offer parts that are not outrageously over-priced. Don't make me list examples and don't make the excuse that they are OEM parts and therefore better quality. This is like buying a 50 dollar printer and later finding out that the brand's ink cartridges cost 30 dollars and there are no 3rd party refills because it is an odd brand printer.

We Outie owners a comparitivly few in the small SUV market (and among Mitsubishi brand owners) and for the most part LOVE out Outies. Come on Mitsubishi...give us a dmn break on the part prices.

Disclaimer: I am not new to Mitsubishi products and I have owned others in the past. I have much respect for Mitsubishi Motors....I was comparative test driver at Mitsubishi Europe in Trebur, Germany (ohh the stories i could tell).

I understand your point. I think a big part of it is there is little competition in the aftermarket parts, and because of this mitsu doesn't have any incentive to lower their prices. If you had 5 companies offering a wide supply of quality aftermarket parts for your outtie like Honda, Toyota, GM and Ford owners have to choose from, mitsu would be forced to lower their aftermarket prices. Unfortunately in many cases when you go on an aftermarket company's website to order outtie parts, you get the message 'Sorry there are no parts for that model of vehicle'.
