I suspect there are some settings in control software that automatically change past certain service intervals to allow for a better/safer breaking-in.

Give it full throttles once in a while and cycle it with engine braking by shifting onto a lower gear...

to create some vacuum in cylinders in aid to help with grit removal.

decided to revisit this issue I am experiencing....

So, a month later the noise is still the same and everything seems to be normal, but I am still concerned about this noise at high rev.I will probablyhave Mitsu dealer to take a look at it, but that's not for another 2-3 months.Someone in the another thread mentioned something about "turbo pipe", is that for Mivec? I wonder if that's what causing it.

Since the text is from a European Model Outlander, I think they are speaking about the diesel turbo model engine.

Bringing back this topic to let you guys know that the issue I had was related to type of oil [Nissan] dealer put. Since then I had 2 oil changes with Mitsu/Ford dealer and the noise is no longer an issue
