Default TIRES on your Outlander - 18's only!

Only 225/55R18 responses, please, for obvious reasons.

I need a new set of tires for my '13 Outlander, and I am finding that choices are slim pickins for this size, with semi-aggressive tread.

What tires do you have on your car? Are you happy with them?

I live in the snow belt (New England) and the new tires must be good in snow, but I am not interested in a winter tire. I would like a semi-aggressive tread.

I've spent 2 weeks doing research and reading tons of reviews - and am coming up short on something that appeals to me.

Looking to spend up to $150 per tire or thereabouts. (Or less!)

When I had Jeeps, I had Definity Dakota H/T and Futura Scrambler RVT - to give you an idea of the look I like, and snow prowess.

The tire I had chosen out of the possible options, based on customer reviews, was the Falken ZIEX ZE950. Most other choices in this size seem to have more complaints than compliments.

I have been buying tires for years from these guys great price, rebates, and warranty customer service:

These are the tires I currently have.

Best set of tires I have ever owned in my life. They have a 90,000 Mile Warranty.

The problem is for snow, you need wider lateral grooves to help clear out snow and bite. That's why all terrain tires have large outer lugs on each side of the tire.

There are very few all terrain tires for the 18" wheel, but plenty of options for the 16". For the 18" rim, i'd get the Yokohama Geolander AT/S, agressive looks and off road and snow cred, but the center is very car like in design. Should do well all year round, but won't be as quiet and comfortable as a dedicated car tire. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....omCompare1=yes

Thank you for your input.

Based on customer reviews, customer satisfaction, "bang for your buck," and speaking with several so-called tire experts (at various tire dealers) - I have just ordered what I had originally selected - the Falken ZIEX ZE950 A/S.

I like the cutting edge technology in this tire, and the fact that this is the one tire that doesn't have any complaints. (Funny - that is also the reason I selected the '13 Outlander over the RAV4, Forester, and CRV.)
