I tow a 2,100 lb Viking 1906UD trailer with my Outlander XLS. The first thing you need to do, if you have the factory hitch, is get rid of the draw bar and replace it with one that you can lower your tailgate when it is installed. Second you need a sway bay. Neither if these will help lift your back end but it makes the whole package a whole lot more stable. I use this combo and I can't even feel the trailer back there.

Hi thank you all for advise my next trip to firestone will be just for that. I just have a unexperienced question how is the sway bar look like i thought all suv's have one and where can i buy one. With my Hidden Hitch and the extension for the ball receiver i can open my tailgate even when i'm towing or carring my cargo bascket that attatches to my hitch.

Hi bender, who made the sway bar that you bought for your Outlander. Did you buy both front and back?

Rene, did you install the firestone airbags yet?? I'm curious to see how they hold up, and if you have pics that would be even better. And how's the ride quality??

I just hate having the rear sag with a heavy load or with the camper

has them in stock. Mine arrived 3 days after ordering, to Canada, no less. That was two weeks ago. i installed them and they work great. A properly weighted trailer will not require a sway bar. Weight distribution system would be helpful, yes, but sway control not necessary. Keep 10-15% of the trailer weight on the tongue and things should be fine.

Hi !

I changed my Outlander 2007 for a 2010 (LS Canadian model)

Last summer, i had installed a kit from Firestone (coil rite)

On my outlander 2007, the rear suspension was to low when i tow my RV.

The kit works great.

I ask Firestone, if i can install the kit on my new 2010.

Firestone told me that no kit is avalaible for 2009 et 2010 outlander.

I check the dimension of the coil, it look identical.

the dealer can't confirm me that the coil are the same.

Today, my mechanic installed the kit on my 2010.

I can confirm that the kit work great

in canada i will pay around 150-160 $ + installation

i buy it when i was comping in Maine USA, i pay 90 $ (no installation)

my mechanic take near 2 hour to make the job right

unlike what you can see and read on the instruction

you can't install it without take off some piece (believe me i try it)

you have to take off the coil to put the bag

i don't forget protect the hose with a rubber hose

when i don't use it, i put 5 lbs ans around 15-20 lbs when i tow my rv

*******************************

i put a T connector to make a jonction with 2 air line (1 from the right, 1 from the left)

after the T connector i have only 1 hose to fill air
Some pictures of my installation on my outlander 2007

presently, i did't take picture yet on my outlander 2010

When i drive with my camping trailer (Aliner 2009 expedition, 2300 lbs with nothing)

the rear is not saggy and it's more easy to drive

because i don't feel the trailer pull the outlander back

and when i drive on road with bumps the ride is great

i put 15 lbs in the air suspension, it's enough

The anti way bar attaches from the trailer frame to the draw bar, not a suspension sway bar. I think the brand id Husky and I bought it where I bought my trailer. It is a friction type and any RV dealership can sell one.

I am going to get those ait bags too.
