Default Trans problems-stuck in same gear......

I have a 2007 Outlander XLS 2wd.

Came out from work, noticed a big "clunk" on the trans when put in reversed.... I became worried as this was a big impact on the trans and not normal... put it in drive, the same thing only to a minor degree... Began the commute to my house(about a 15 minute drive) and notice the transmission did not shift. Put it in manual mode, and it was stuck in 3rd gear all the way. No service engine light or nothing. No matter what I did, it did not shift to any other gear, just stuck in 3rd....

Arrived home very worried... An hour later went to check it out again, and the problem was not existing. Went out to work today, no problem, everything normal......

Have any of you experience this?? Any thoughts and/or sugestions?

Needless to say that I am worried about the problems this condition might bring, specially as it is an intermittent issue, and for now there is no way for me to duplicate the problem for the dealer/warranty...

Best regards

I have a 2007 XLS and I never had that problem with my tranny. I would definitely go to the dealer and have it check as it's under warranty they might be aware of the problem already.

It is very strange because the transmission locked in 3rd gear, even if I stopped, it would start in 3rd. Reverse gear also felt as slugish as accelerating in 3rd from a stand still. Manual/Auto/Paddles nothing changed....
Turned it off and back on and problem solved.......
