Default Transmission Problem

So, our 2007 Outtie has had the transmission update but now it is doing something different. We will be driving around at a normal speed, under normal stress and it feels like the transmission is jumping from 5th to 4th and back to 5th really quickly. We definitely feel a jerk for no reason.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Haven't experienced anything like that myself. Since you're in Colorado are you going up grades alot? I've noticed the 6-speed tends to downshift alot on long uphill drives even ona moderate grade.

If not i'd take in to the service department and take a tech for a ride. Make sure they know what you're experiencing first hand, otherwise you may get the "we couldn't replicate your issue" response when you go pick it up.

Good luck and keep us up to date with any news.

I went to the poconos this weekend and went up and down really big hills that were "grade" warnings for big trunks and mine didnt down shift unless i pushed the gas pedal down hard enough for it to. Then when it down shifted it would stay in that gear until I left up or it was going fast enough for the next gear.

antlip,
Mine will downshift from 6th gearto 5th when traveling up some of the mile+ long mountainous hills here in MD. That's usually because i'm going about 70mph and have the cruise set. It sometimes will go back to 6th when there's a slight lull in the grade and then goes back to 5th when the pitch increases again. Just seems that the short gearing for the 6-speed may cause more downshifts to stay at speed.

Mine never jumps back and forth continuously and doesn't make the Outtie jerk at all assutherlandjl alluded to. Hopefully in sutherlandjl's case it's just a computer error in the tranny that only requires a re-flash or minor adjustment.
