Cool Transmission Problem or Not? 2009 Mitsubishi Outlander

I just purchased a 2009 Outlander Se with CVT transmission... This is the first time ever owning a vehicle with this type of transmission.... I am experiencing I think maybe a slipping transmission... But again not quite sure if it is or not.... I know there is no TYPICAL shifting it is a constant increase in speed, somehow I don't get that burst of power or it seems to labor a lot where the rpms go up to 3 to 4000 and then kind lower down and backup again when pressing the gas down... It doenst seem a decrease in speed as I press the gas further down like it is slipping, but it sounds like it is, if you get my meaning.... Let me know your thoughts... Thanks

CVT does seem to act as it is slipping. That's normal for a CVT.
