My 05 outlander has a manual trans. Has lots of torque but doesn't like interstate travel (75 mph). Does anyone know if it's possible to take an awd manual trans out of a Lancer (or other awd car) to help the gas mileage?

 

probably way more headache than it is worth. you'll need to find an auto that bolts up to whatever engine you have. I'm unsure if there is a separate transmission computer, but, there will likely be computer changes of some sort.
