Default Turn Signal Flasher Relay?

hey all!

I just recently bought a brand new 2011 Outlander XLS...I installed some PUTCO LED turn signals for the front and rear turn signals. They both are "hyperflashing" (blinking way too fast)

I heard that I can just replace the flasher relay with one made for LEDs (like a TRIDOn EP34) but I can not seem to locate the darn stock flasher AT ALL! I know it is under the dash, because I can hear it clicking when the hazards are on...but I can't pinpoint it for the life of me! does anyone know exactly where it is at? or have a picture where it is at?

thanks for your help!

I had the same problem with my '07. I had removed the entire gauge assembly from the dash to locate the "flasher" unit. The sound appears to be coming from inside the speedo and tach assembly...it must be a component on a circuit board and not a traditional plug-in unit. I cold not find the location on the shop manual wiring diagram, but I'm not as smart as I look. I noticed the turn signals hyper flashed, but not the hazards. Probably due to the combined load from the 4 leds being on at the same time. I ended up installing load resistors on all four leds and that solved the problem. Hope this helps.

Default Not what you think

The indicators are controlled by Can so there isn't actually a indicator relay that can be changed, the ticking sound is actually created by the can bus system..

Default Indicators don't work when trailer attached

Hi all,

I have a 2010 Mitsubishi Outlander. When I attach a trailer, the indictors on both the vehicle and trailer don't work. All wiring on the trailer is correct and properly earthed. Any suggestions?
