Two out of three iPods won't load.
We brought home a 2011 SE with the Rockford Fosgate stereo and usb connection two weeks ago. We have an iPod Nano 3rd generation (4 or 8 GB, I don't recall) that links right up and loads.
Neither my 4th generation photo (2004) 40 gb nor my 6th generation (2009) 80 gb will load.
It would not even recognize when the older one was hooked up.
The 6th gen. gets the display to read "Ipod LOAD", but the ipod does not load.
I just restored the 80 gb and loaded about 22 gb of music onto it.
I drove home 28 minutes in silence today to see how long it may take to load.
Any ideas?

I worked a fix. Three thumbdrives with a single mp3 on each. Plug each in, let it load until it displays track info.
I read somewhere they only remember 3 devices, and I was not recognizing my 6th gen that it had linked with previously. After three new devices, it recognized the ipod as a new device. It took a few minutes to read it, and I needed to select tracks on the radio, not via voice for about 12 minutes as it was adding stuff to the library. But I was able to have K'naan bumpin' on the way home.
-edit: There were other files on the thumbdrives. The mp3 was just one more file.
