UK Sat nav upgrade 2012 Outlander with Rockford Fosgate
Hi,
New to the forum so hi. Just bought a 2012 GX4 Outlander with a Rockford MMCS system. However it does not look like there have been any map updates or firmware updates on this system for quite some time, if ever. I live in the UK so new UK maps would be great + EU if possible but not a dealbreaker.
I found this link for map update https://www.mitsubishi-motors.com/en...e_navi/eu.html but all the links on it are dead. I am willing to pay for the update and I think from what I read you need to have a disc to update the HDD in the unit. Not asked my local dealer yet but will do. Been looking extensively online but although my googling skills are normally fairly decent there seems to be a lack of information online
Also are there any viable options to just change the head unit for an aftermarket one like Kenwood whilst retaining all the functionality of the car from there i.e. system information etc? Would be nice to have Apple Play etc.. I am guessing not since this would mean an integration with all the car monitoring systems but I live in hope.
One final question. I bought this vehicle from an independent dealer and it only came with one key. Anyone know where I can get a reasonably priced two button key with programming, online maybe? Dealer asking £200 and local key guy £160 or is this reasonable. I have not even owned a car for 15 years so bit in the dark over prices of such stuff.
Thanks in advance, Ron
