RE: US market nav update
I have a gut feeling that these map updates for portables can be modified to work with our Nav unit, as long as it's NAVTEQ's map updates. $100+for maps is a little steep. Just saw an 09 with lane guidance, our subdivision is not on their maps yet, although i NAVTEQ's map reporter mini map, it's already there. It will probably be another 2 years til it shows up in the map updates.

Thank for the info brian. any thoughts about hacking portable GPS map data into the Outlander? do you think that's possible? from what understand, these maps are just set of parameters that the GPS software interprets, so I'm thinking we can convert these into MMCS readable info.

RE: US market nav update
Honestly, this is complete BS. I bought a 2008 Outlander XLS and it has the "latest" nav update, its 2 years old. I paid top dollar for 2008 technology, the thing can't rip MP3's from DVD, the f@ckingNav is out of date and Mitsubishi has no answer for me. The fact that they want to charge money for an outdated update (07??) has to be illegal somehow, if you pay for 2008 technology it should be just that, no if ends or buts about it.
We should start a real petition and get some action on this.
